www.earlyamerica.com traces the history of North America from 1562 to 1812. The site includes an abstract information on each of the maps. The sirte has a huge collection of the historical collection of North Americas maps. The first map dates back to 1797. The original was published in the American Gazetter by Jeddisah Morse. The map is the first geographical dictionary and an accurate physical outline of North America. The 13 original cities during 1607 are shown in a map. Also shown are the headwaters of the Mississippi River as that great waterway flowing through the Louisiana Territory culminating at New Orleans.
